Snow Ordinances

The City of Ashton will be enforcing Snow Removal and Snow Route Ordinances beginning 5:00 am November 1 thru March 31

City Code 69.09 Snow Removal - No person shall park, abandon or leave unattended any vehicle on any public street, alley or city owned off-street parking area during snow removal operations unless the snow has been removed or plowed from said street, alley, parking area and the snow has ceased to fall.

City Code 69.10 Snow Routes - The council may designate certain streets in the city as snow routes.  When conditions of snow or ice exist on the traffic surface of a designated snow route, it is unlawful for the driver of a vehicle to impede or block traffic.

The City of Ashton has declared that Main Street, First Avenue and Ashton Avenue are designated as Emergency Snow Routes.  Please do not park your vehicle on these roadways during snow removal operations.

On all other streets, vehicles must stay a minimum of five feet from the edge of the road.  There is the possibility of snow being pushed on or near your vehicle.  If you park within less than five feet of the edge of the road, you are subject to a parking ticket from November to March.
